Frame of the Week: Lafont Lin Eyeglasses

Lafont Lin eyeglasses

Our friend Laurence picked out a perfect pair of designer glasses. The color, the shape, everything about this frame looks fabulous on her! We love how the purple complements the shade of her hair with its red undertones, while the rectangular silhouette fits nicely with her angular features. The slight curves of the brow line are what gives this frame a nice balance as well.

The pair Laurence chose are Lafont Lin eyeglasses in color 744. What we really like about this color is that it’s dark, but not your typical dark pair of specs. Rather than going the typical route of black or brown, Lin gives you that same artsy/intelligent look in a whole new way. Did you notice the little design on the inner arm, too? Others might not see the pattern unless they look closely, but that’s why we like details like this, it feels like a personal touch only known to you and the designer.

Lin is also available in several other colors, including black with a brown inside pattern, navy blue with a pink inside pattern, brown with a green inside pattern, orange leopard print, and a black and pink pattern. The silhouette is a classic, with its rectangular lenses and top-set arms, so we’re leaning towards the more exciting colors to give the timeless shape a modern boost. What do you think, do you prefer classic colors or patterns and prints?

2013 Lafont Trunk Show Recap

What an honor it was to have Thomas Lafont at Vizio Optic on Monday! He and the Lafont family came together to celebrate the North American debut of their Fall/Winter Rendezvous eyewear collection, featuring a stunning range of designer eyeglasses and sunglasses colored in wildlife-inspired patterns, silhouettes harkening back to mod fashion and much more.

Above, Galina stands with the Lafont family after a successful trunk show at our Brookline store. Our visitors got to explore the entire line of Lafont eyewear, permanent frames along with the brand new selection, and be styled by members of the Lafont team. Representatives from all over North America came to enjoy the event and work with customers as well, an exclusive opportunity for our community!

Rendezvous brings the designer’s brilliant and bright wildlife-inspired prints to its metal frames, with all of the same passion and detail found in the acetate collection. The range also features an homage to 1950s Paris, with mod shapes and engravings that truly have a mid-century appeal.

Lafont Madeleine Eyeglasses

Lafont Madeleine eyeglasses come in gold, blue, taille, green and the above red, with a striped pattern throughout its laser-cut frame. The rectangular silhouette flares slightly along the brows, which extend to top-set arms that feature the same exotic design.

Lafont Mayfair Eyeglasses

Lafont Mayfair Eyeglasses is also laser-cut with a pattern of swirls along the outer edges, while blue and purple leopard print color the rest of the frame. Mayfair is also offered in gold, orange and pink.

These and more were on display at Vizio Optic on Monday. If you missed the event, take a look at the photos below for a recap of the fun evening.

Go Wild With Animal Print Glasses

Some Mondays, nothing goes right, and you’re left feeling a little bit crazy. One of the most important things to remember to get you through the week is to let loose a little bit, whether it’s something as simple as letting down your hair, or maybe showing off your wild side. No, we don’t mean dancing on your desk, we mean brightening up your day with a pair of animal print glasses, one of the best glasses trends this year!

Lafont Eyewear is the number one brand for animal print eyeglasses, celebrating leopard print in numerous different ways. Here are a few of our favorites:

Leopard print is a great way to indulge in your fun and creative sides, and it is the perfect accent piece for a neutral outfit. As you might notice, Lisbonne is the boldest one in the group. While classic leopard is a universally loved color scheme, why not switch it up a bit and go for a pink and purple design?

On top of all these great frames from the French brand, Lafont also makes the Concerto frames seen in the first photo. Doesn’t she look great? The pattern looks awesome complemented by her red lipstick, yet her look is not overwhelming thanks to minimal eye makeup and neutral clothing. It all comes down to one thing, like we always say, balance!
