We are super excited to announce this new feature on the website that we have been working on since late last year – the Eyewear LOOKBOOK. We copied this idea from various high end eyeglass designers’ websites while noticing that this is only made by designers but no eyeglass store has done this yet so we figured we should try it out.
So on our website we photographed a handpicked selection of eyeglass frames presented on real people including Monica C. who works here. The Eyewear LOOKBOOK features some of our favorite eyeglasses and these are all our own photographs that you won’t find anywhere else with faces sporting glasses from Alain Mikli, Face a Face, Lafont and Vue DC and other eyewear styles.
It turns out that we are the first eyeglass store in the world who offers this feature to show real faces wearing our glasses online. Of course others have professional models and photographs from eyeglass designers but these are all our very own and boy it took a lot of time and effort to get this project finished but we are glad we did and we love how it looks. What do you think?
Update from Vizio Optic: We no longer carry the Mikli par Mikli or Alain Mikli brands. Please browse our currently available designer brands and call, chat or email us for personalized assistance. We are an authorized dealer of authentic European and US brands, shipping world-wide!
Thank you from all of us at Vizio Optic!
Alain Miikli (Alain Miklitarian) is a world-renown French eyewear designer who is recognized for his remarkable, hand-crafted eyeglasses and sunglasses. In 1978 Alain Mikli opened his first design studio in Paris. Most of his eyeglass designs were characterized with unique colors and shapes that attract a lot of devotees and popular European celebrities and avant-garde Americans. It was in the 80s that he became popular when musicians and famous artists began wearing his exquisite eyewear.
In 1983, Elton John wore Alain Mikli eyeglasses which made Alain Mikli an internationally admired eyewear designer. Almost three decades later, another musician Kanye West re-established the popularity of Alain Mikli in the music world when he requested the frame directly from the French designer a Shutter Shade designed eyeglass for the making of his music video “Stronger”. Other celebrities who wore and wear Alain Mikli glasses include Andy Warhol, Matthew Broderick, Brad Pitt, Jack Nicholson, Samuel L. Jackson, Meryl Streep and U2’s Bono.
With Alain Mikli’s great popularity and continuously attracting reputation in the world of fashion, it has turned out to be a very gigantic phenomenon referred as “Shutter Shades”.
All of Alain Mikli’s eyeglasses are eye-capturing as they come with unique designs with lively combinations of colors. They also come in a variety of sizes perfectly cut and carefully crafted using high quality acetate and titanium materials. Alain Mikli glasses and sunglasses convey elegance, boldness and individuality. It is true that those who wear Alain Mikili are always people with passion to emphasize their individual style. With Alain Mikil glasses, the wearer is always an individual, not one of many but oneself.
We are honored to be the 1st in history and the only eyeglasses store in Boston’s history to win “Best of Boston” four times.
On July 27, we were truly surprised, floored, and genuinely honored to receive the highly prestigious Best of Boston Eyeglasses 2010 award from the Boston Magazine.
Since this is our 4th time, we simply couldn’t believe our eyes and ears. Vizio Optic was chosen by Boston Magazine as the “Best of Boston Eyeglasses” in 2006, 2007 and 2009 and now to be at the top again in 2010 is beyond our belief. We just don’t know whom to thank at Boston Magazine as we are genuinely grateful to their wonderful team for choosing Vizio Optic again. Boston Magazine writes that they give their experts top-secret assignments to go out and seek out the best while being completely anonymous during their shopping assignments. Apparently they are instructed to keep their Boston Magazine association highly confidential and not reveal the secret to the shop and restaurant owners. Well, we must admit that they did an excellent job because after the 4th time of winning this coveted award, we still cannot figure out who came in from Boston magazine, who selected us and how it was done. It’s truly a mystery and we are in awe of Boston Magazine to do this so well.
In this new August 2010 special issue of the Boston Magazine, the editors wrote about Vizio Optic: “The petite Brookline Village shop is a four-time Best of Boston winner, and for a good reason: Vizio Optic’s top-notch service starts with the on-site optometrist and ends with the 360-degree photo booth, which allows buyers to see how those glasses look from the side, too. More than 1,000 frame choices include high-fashion, time-honored favorites from CHANEL, Alain Mikli, and Robert Marc, as well as funky, lesser-known lines like Kata and Lafont.”
We just cannot thank Boston Magazine enough!!! And we are also grateful to our customers for their love and support. And we are also grateful to our Customer Loyalty Team for helping Vizio win yet again!
